Hi everyone, and welcome to my site about wellness. This site will mainly be addressing teachers, but anyone can use it and hopefully benefit from it.

I have been teaching for a number of years, and I absolutely love the work I do. It can definitely be stressful, but taking care of my body and mind has helped me deal with these stresses and my job satisfaction and growth have improved tremendously.


When I started my first year of teaching I was very overweight. I was always tired and the stress of the job were getting to me. By my 5th year I was miserable. I dreaded going to work and alcohol was starting to be my go-to stress reliever. At this point I think I was drinking almost every night. I was short tempered with my students, and was even put on a growth plan one year.

It was around this time that I was also having issues with my breathing and my heart. After a trip to the emergency room and several tests done by my cardiologist the results were largely inconclusive. I was diagnosed with anxiety, but it did not explain all of my symptoms. My doctor said that her best advice was to exercise at least one hour a day/ 5 times a week, and change my diet.

Since that moment I changed many things about my life. I joined a gym (I tried working out at home but I have no motivation to do so). I also drastically changed my diet. Though, I will say that my diet for several years was not consistent, and I have tried almost all the fad diets, programs, and miracle pills that are out there. My weight and stress have fluctuated but I have finally found a good stabilizing system that works for me.

I have since lost 70 pounds and gained a lot of good muscle, and have toned up. I no longer turn to alcohol for stress relief. In fact, I mostly stay away from it. My job satisfaction has also improved tremendously (I still work on the same campus). I have gone from an average teacher to one of the leaders on campus. I have a ton of energy, and am able to stay calm way better than before.


I have found such happiness in my life recently, and it mostly comes from my job satisfaction which is related to how I feel and go into work every day. I feel for the teachers who look beaten down and sad because that used to be me. I know how it feels.

Teaching is one of the most important and vital professions that there is. It’s also a trickle down effect. If teachers are not happy than that shows in their teaching and students suffer because of it. If we want to educate kids to the best of our ability then we first need to take care of ourselves.

Diet and exercise does not solve every problem but it definitely helps. I am hoping that someone can use at least one thing from this website that will benefit them and help them feel energized which will help in their teaching career. I will be focusing a lot on different products that I have found to be of great benefit to me personally and can be incorporated easily into any diet plan.
